Small soft fruit like blueberries, strawberries etc can last a lot longer if you wash them in a solution of cold water and white vinegar, rinse and dry thoroughly then store them in a plastic box lined with kitchen roll in the fridge. This removes any mould that makes them go bad quickly, I have had fruit last 2 weeks in the fridge after doing this.

Living alone, I tend to shy away from buying punnets of soft fruits, solely due to the fact that I won't eat them all before they 'go off' .. Many thanks for this tip x

I have this problem too. I’ll give it a go. One thing though, do they taste of vinegar?

No, as long as you rinse them well they don't taste of vinegar at all. leave them to stand a couple of minutes and then rinse well.
